OMEGA WATCH
IT’S pretty hard to miss the message that omega-3 fatty acids are important for health. But there are other vital omega fatty acids. This week: omega 7 FOUND IN: Two of the richest sources are macadamia nut oil and the seed and berry of the sea buckthorn plant. It is also found in dairy and avocados.
WHAT’S NEW: Omega 7 has been linked to health benefits, including reduced inflammation and blood sugar levels, and alleviating skin dryness. In one Korean study, it was shown to have an antiinflammatory effect, helping to promote the regeneration of collagen, which gives skin its structure.
