HOW can Conservative MP nick fletcher blame men committing crime on having a female lead on doctor Who? Women taking roles once exclusive to men is not replacement, but equality — something that obviously frightens a lot of blokes.

As for International Men’s day, every day is men’s day. Look at the Cop26 line-up of leaders in whom we must trust the future of the planet — there were only three women, including Angela Merkel, who has since bowed out as German Chancellor.

Where were the rest of the representatives of 50 per cent of the human race? They have been excluded from power and influence.

The world is in a mess — from wars to environmental catastrophe — because men have been running things for thousands of years.
