Bidder swoops on car dealer

SHARES in car dealer Marshall Motor Holdings hit a record high after the owner of We Buy Any car and cinch swooped with a bid.

The stock closed up 42.3pc, or 116p, at 390p after constellation Automotive Group tabled a 400p offer worth £323m. The bid has the backing of Marshall Group, which owns 64pc of the dealership.
