GSK poaches from Pfizer
GLAXOSMITHKLINE has poached one of Pfizer’s top vaccine executives after it failed to produce a jab.
Philip Dormitzer will be global head of vaccines research and development. He was Pfizer’s chief scientific officer for viral vaccines as the US group developed a successful jab with Germany’s Biontech.
The post has been vacant since Emmanuel Hanon left in April. FTSE 100 firm GSK is awaiting results of a clinical trial for a vaccine it developed with Sanofi.
GSK’s Hal Barron said: ‘The importance of vaccines has never been clearer, and the pace of technological innovation has rarely been greater.’
