Tigers lure Bok ace Pollard

-

COMMONWEALTH Games boss Katie Sadleir wants to meet Tom Daley to discuss his concerns about discrimination against the gay community. Daley has highlighted it is illegal to be gay in 36 of the 54 nations and Sadleir said: ‘I’m happy to meet him. We don’t set the rules for countries but we create a platform to discuss these things.’

LEICESTER are poised to confirm the signing of World Cupwinning South Africa fly-half Handre Pollard as the end-of-season replacement for George Ford. Ford is leaving the Tigers in the summer to join Sale and the East Midlands club appear to have secured a pedigree recruit to fill the void. At 27, Pollard has been a fixture at No 10 for the Springboks for several years. He kicked 22 points in the World Cup final victory over England in 2019 and he was a mainstay in the series win over the Lions earlier this year. Pollard, who is out of contract with Montpellier in July, had been linked with a switch to Bath.
