LAURA, 34 VITAL STATISTICS

SINGLE for four years, no children.

CURRENT ROLE COMMUNICATIONS manager.

WOULD LIKE TO MEET

SOMEONE ambitious and adventurous, but who is also modest.

RELATIONSHIP HISTORY

I’ve had three serious relationships, but none lasted longer than a couple of years. When I split from my last boyfriend, I moved to Switzerland for work for three years.

It was difficult to meet someone over there as my French was pretty bad and the town was sleepy.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

No, I’m used to meeting new people with work. But I enjoyed telling my best friend about the date and I picked out a mini dress and boots to wear.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

I arrIved just a few moments before david. He greeted me with a big smile and genuine warmth; I could tell he’s a lovely person.

EASY TO TALK TO?

We dIdN’t have much in common. I love football, and support arsenal, but

couldn’t believe he wasn’t interested in it. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love football.

I caught him covertly looking at his phone a few times, as if to check the time. He had mentioned he had somewhere to go afterwards, so I didn’t mind, but perhaps he was also keen for the date to end. I normally put my phone away when I’m with people. that being said, I admired the fact he is clearly ambitious and passionate about his job.

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

No, at least I hope not. I might have talked too much.

DID SPARKS FLY?

No, Not at all. I definitely didn’t fancy him and he wasn’t flirting with me either. at the end of the date, we walked to the station and said goodbye. It was a little awkward for a moment as we thought we might be travelling in the same direction. Luckily, we were on different trains.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET AGAIN?

ProBaBLy not. If I saw him out and about I’d happily go and chat, but we wouldn’t arrange to meet.

WHAT DO YOU THINK HE THOUGHT OF YOU?

I SuSPect I was too corporate for him. He works in the arts and I’ve mostly worked for big firms. and he might think I talk a lot. I got the impression he’s a little shy.

WOULD YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS LIKE HIM?

everyBody who knows me would realise he’s not a good match for me.
