Assault charge for road protest mum

A SCHOOL run mother who made headlines after trying to push an Insulate Britain activist with her car has been charged with assault over the incident.

Sherrilyn Speid shoved an activist blocking the road in Grays, Essex, with her Range Rover while trying to get her son to school on October 13. After being praised on social media, the mental health worker even launched a range of ‘Range Rover Mum’ branded clothing.

Essex Police confirmed Speid, 34, of Purfleet, will appear at Basildon magistrates’s court next month, charged with dangerous driving and assault by beating.
