FROM KEEPER TO GOAL IN 23 SECONDS: HOW ARSENAL TORE THROUGH SAINTS’ HIGH PRESS

-

ARSENAL scored one of the goals of the season against Southampton last week with a move to vindicate Mikel Arteta’s insistence on playing out from the back. Keeper Aaron Ramsdale exchanged passes with Thomas Partey and his defenders, before they played a quick onetouch move to score.

IT TOOK just 11 passes for the Gunners’ sweeping move to get from one box to the other. THOMAS PARTEY dropped between the two defenders to create an extra passing option. The Gunners passed through Southampton, then Bukayo Saka had space to exploit on the wing and find the pass to Lacazette to score.
