‘I’M LOOKING for Adrian Victor Roderick, nicknamed Rod,’ writes Derek Ponting, 76, from Liverpool.
‘I emigrated to Australia in 1965. I was conscripted into the Army and made many friends with whom I’m still in contact.
‘However, I lost touch with Rod. We served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967 with Alpha company 6 RAR.
‘Rod was born in London in 1945 and became an Australian citizen. I returned to Britain in 1967 and worked as a bus driver.
‘In 2011, I published a book called Dear Mam, about my memories of serving in Vietnam, based on letters I sent home to my mother.’ a missing loved one and a tale of people reunited. Produced in conjunction with the voluntary tracing service Searching For A Memory, run by Gill Whitley.
