- By Paul Revoir Media Editor

IN 16 years of presenting BBC1’s Sunday morning political interview programme, Andrew Marr has tackled all the heavyweight issues of the day.

But the 62-year-old brought the curtain down on his career with the broadcaster yesterday on a lighter note. Marr, who is quitting the BBC after 21 years to present shows on LBC and Classic FM, signed off from The Andrew Marr Show with a line from his ‘mentor’, the fictional newsreader Ron Burgundy, played by Will Ferrell in the 200 comedy film Anchorman. Mr Marr said: ‘I can’t do better than quoting my great mentor – “You stay classy, San Diego”.’
