MANCHESTER Town Hall opened in 1877 as a symbol of the power the city had accrued as a centre of industry. It’s picked up a lot of wear and tear over the years — more recently, as a filming location for Peaky Blinders — and tonight’s new episode follows the £330 million restoration programme.
