Wasted talent

WHY is the NHS being so short-sighted?

There is an army of retired qualified nurses who could step into the breach and join the vaccination programme as volunteers to help keep the country safe. I’ve given countless injections — you never forget how to do it — and would need little more than a quick refresher course to update my skills.

But all I am allowed to do is man the car park, answer phones and marshal people. I admire people who do this, but a valuable resource is being wasted.
