A GOOD TIME TO RESET BAD EATING HABITS

-

ROOTED in cutting-edge nutritional science, WW’s approach to healthy eating has been clinically proven to help achieve significant weight loss, as well as reducing hunger and food cravings.

Central to the success of the new programme is the award-winning WW app that gives access to thousands of recipes, has an easy-to-use scanner for working out PersonalPoints of food when you are shopping or dining in a restaurant and gives members access to the support of WW coaches and other members at any time of the day.

This is the most personalised food plan yet from WW and starts with new members taking a health and lifestyle questionnaire so that a food plan can be tailored around favourite foods, lifestyle needs, metabolism and goals. Every food and drink has a PersonalPoints value — one easy-to-use number that guides you towards a healthier pattern of eating. This is calculated by the WW app, using the new algorithm which crunches complex nutritional data into one number so you can assess a food on the spot.

HOW POINTS WORK

PERSONALPOINTS are calculated according to calories, saturated fats and sugar — all of which increase the Points value of any food. Lean protein lowers the PersonalPoints value because it builds and repairs tissue and helps you feel fuller for longer.

The WW algorithm also takes into account fibre (which lowers the Points value of a food); differentiates between healthy unsaturated fats and lesshealthy saturated fats; and assesses whether a food contains natural sugars (such as fruit) or added sugar (such as a biscuit). This means the PersonalPoints value given to a food is a highly accurate reflection of its true health benefits.

CHOOSE YOUR FOODS

ZEROPOINT foods have a PersonalPoints value of 0 — and can be eaten without weighing or counting.

They become the go-to ingredients you can base your meals around and, for the first time ever, you can choose which ZeroPoint foods you would like to be part of your PersonalPoints plan.

BOOST YOUR BUDGET

YOU also get three ways to grow your Budget as you build healthy habits.

Add 1 Point to your daily Budget by drinking 1.75 litres of water. Add 1 Point to your daily Budget for every handful of non-starchy veg you eat (unlimited per day). Add Points to your weekly Budget for any activity (unlimited per week).

Sign up to WW today for a month’s free membership — visit MyMail.co.uk for more details. When you join WW, you take a personal assessment — answering questions about yourself, your food preferences and lifestyle. Make use of the WW app to track your food, activity, how much water you drink as well as your sleeping habits.
