The Last Survivors, 9pm, BBC4 THIS documentar­y makes difficult viewing, but it tells a story that should never be forgotten. It gathers together the moving testimony from the last Jewish Holocaust survivors living in Britain today. They were children when they arrived at the Nazi camps.

UNCOVERING THE PAST

The Great British Dig: History In Your Back Garden, 9pm, More4 THE cheery Hugh Dennis is the friendly face of this show, in which he persuades people to open their gardens to the eager trowels of archaeolog­ists. In this new episode, those trowels uncover a 19thcentur­y prison in Devizes, Wiltshire, that was one of the first of its kind.

CRIME FIGHTERS

S.W.A.T., 9pm, Pick SCHOOL shootings make headlines all too often in the U.S. and when, in this new-to-Freeview episode, Hondo and S.W.A.T accidental­ly receive advance notice of one, they move swiftly to shut it down. The shooter is inspired by an incident from 2013 that brings back traumatic memories for the team.

SUPERHERO MOVIE

Eternals, Disney+ THERE are solid twists in this superhero movie from Chloe Zhao (Nomadland), which pushes the Marvel envelope on several fronts. Angelina Jolie deploys pure movie star charisma as Thena, one of a band of guardian ‘Eternals’ left on Earth — while Salma Hayek (pictured) is their leader, Ajak.

DATING SHOW

Heartbreak Island, 10pm, TLC MORE from this New Zealand contest, which is effective at revealing people’s true colours. Tonight, the couples are sent for what looks like a treat — and it is, but only for half of them. Later, the fun gives way to shouting, swearing and the immortal line: ‘I’ve been called a liar for something a liar told me.’ (Sky 133, Virgin 167)

HARROWNG DRAMA

The Diary Of Anne Frank, 10.30pm, BBC4 THE BBC’s heartbreak­ing 2009 drama stars Ellie Kendrick as Anne, the young Jewish diarist hiding from the Nazis during the Second World War. Tamsin Greig and Iain Glen are the parents who are trying to shield her from the reality of the situation. Three episodes are showing tonight.

CHICAGO SAGA

The Chi, Disney+ AS THE Wire was to Baltimore, so The Chi is to the gritty South Side of Chicago, although it tells its stories of that blue-collar community with much less pessimism than David Simon’s show.

FREEVIEW FILM

Sexy Beast, 11.05pm, Film4 A VARIATION on the ‘one last job’ movie from Jonathan Glazer. Ray Winstone is the jailbird who wants to live out his days in peace. Fat chance . . .
