Rock idol: Cowell fiancee’s ‘£2.5m’ dazzler
WHERE marriage is concerned, Simon Cowell has previously said ‘it’s a no from me’.
But after the music mogul’s change of heart, his new fiancee Lauren Silverman showed off her engagement ring as she strolled through Malibu on Wednesday.
The American socialite, 44, showed off a diamond worth an estimated £2.5million, according to jewellery experts who cited the size, quality and colour grade of D – the best possible rating.
Despite once branding marital bliss ‘boring’, Cowell, 62, popped the question to his girlfriend of 13 years, with whom he has a son, Eric. He is said to have proposed on Christmas Eve during a family holiday in Barbados.
Cowell’s attitude reportedly shifted in lockdown when Miss Silverman urged him to commit to family life. The couple met in 2004, when she was married to property tycoon Andrew Silverman.
