BOOHOO has handed out £18m worth of shares between almost 5,000 staff in an attempt to encourage them to stay at the company.

The fast fashion firm, which sells dresses for as little as £1, handed 4,924 workers a stake in the company worth £3,600 each.

They will have to stay at the firm for three years, otherwise they will forfeit the stock. Shares rose 8.5pc, or 9.5p, to 121.1p yesterday.
