Oti’s Strictly everywhere
But as she lands a THIRD job with ITV, will Mabuse still find time to Come Dancing?
SHe has set tongues wagging with hints that she may be about to quit Strictly Come dancing, the show that made her a household name.
But Oti Mabuse, 31, won’t be disappearing from our TV screens any time soon.
Having spent the past year seemingly waltzing from studio to studio, tomorrow night she will make her debut on ITV’s dancing On Ice judging panel.
It comes days after she announced she had landed her ‘dream’ role – hosting the channel’s new musical matchmaking show romeo and duet, to be shown later this year. It features singletons standing on a balcony to be serenaded by a potential lover they can hear but not see.
Miss Mabuse, a South African who joined Strictly in 2015, was partnered with former england rugby star Ugo Monye in last year’s series, but they were sent home in week five.
She became the first professional dancer to take the glitterball trophy two years in a row, with Kelvin fletcher in 2019 and Bill Bailey in 2020.
Miss Mabuse fuelled speculation that she was preparing to leave the show when she said this week: ‘There will be an announcement… later. I’m trying to learn and do as much as I can for as long as I can while I can.’
She is certainly packing her schedule, and is also appearing in the current series of pointless Celebrities. last year she was a panellist on ITV’s The Masked dancer and also appeared on shows including BBC’s Morning live and ITV’s lorraine.
In 2020 she hosted Boogie Beebies on CBeebies and in 2019 she was on Celebrity MasterChef.
