CORONILLA VALENTINA VAR. GLAUCA ‘CITRINA’

-

ALL winter flowering shrubs are to be treasured, but this one has special charm. An abundant, thin-stemmed shrub, it thrives in rocky terrains of Mediterranean coastal regions. The compound leaves have pretty, rounded leaflets, making an attractive foil to the rounded clusters of buttercup-yellow flowers. In the sub-species glauca the leaves have an attractive blue-grey tone. Prettier still, flowers in the variety Citrina are pale lemon. Grow against a warm, southfacing wall. Even in the weakest winter sunshine, your coronilla will open new flowers almost every day.
