HOW CRAZY SAGA UNFOLDED...

-

TUESDAY JANUARY 4

NOVAK DJOKOVIC posts a picture on social media of him boarding a flight and reveals: ‘Today I’m heading Down Under with exemption permission.’

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 5

DJOKOVIC lands in Melbourne and is held for around nine hours by Border Force. His exemption is withdrawn, visa cancelled and he is transferred to a state-run immigration facility.

THURSDAY JANUARY 6

FANS gather outside the hotel where he is being held, with Djokovic’s parents labelling the facility a ‘prison’, claiming it is dirty and riddled with insects.

SATURDAY JANUARY 8

COURT documents reveal Djokovic had a positive PCR test on December 16, which seems to form the basis of his exemption. Pictures show he attended public events in Belgrade in the week of the positive test.

MONDAY

THE judge hearing his appeal orders Djokovic’s immediate release.

YESTERDAY

THE Serb’s visa is revoked again but he is set to fight on in the courts.
