Blair: No one needs to call me Sir Tony

TONY Blair has said he is ‘perfectly happy’ to be called by his first name rather than Sir Tony.

Amid the continuing row over his knighthood, he told Times Radio: ‘I’m perfectly happy with Tony... That’s what feels most natural to me.’

A petition to strip the Labour former PM of the honour has gathered more than a million signatures. Sir Tony said it was to be expected that some people might object strongly and added: ‘But there it is.’
