We need a strong leader
At A time when russia and China know exactly where they are going, the West is rudderless, weak and divided. our politicians’ sole concerns are the latest opinion polls and how they are going to make themselves popular.
We are in urgent need of a ‘blood, sweat and tears’ world-class leader. they would need to have a clear perspective of national and international priorities, and of the strategies needed to provide us all with a secure and prosperous future.
It is by no means certain that such a potential leader exists in Westminster. So it would be prudent to begin a wide-ranging trawl for candidates for the job of prime minister for when the vacancy arises.
the candidates would need a proven record of success in their own fields, such as business, plus outstanding communication and prioritisation skills.
Since candidates may be from outside Parliament, we should expect to pay a salary that would attract them to take on the job as prime minister at one of the most challenging and perilous times in history. CHRISTINE HULBERT,
