Singer Sophie’s plea as friend’s girl, 14, vanishes

soPhIe ellis-Bextor has issued an appeal for help finding a friend’s missing 14-year-old daughter.

The singer has urged her social media followers to help in the search for teenager Clementine Reardon, who vanished from her Twickenham home on Thursday last week.

Miss ellis-Bextor wrote on Twitter: ‘This is a friend’s daughter so please let the police know if you see Clementine. Likely to be around the Twickenham area.’

her appeal comes as the Metropolit­an Police said concerns for the schoolgirl were growing.

other celebritie­s including stephen Mangan, Georgia Tennant and James Purefoy have also shared appeals to locate her.

on Friday, actress Mrs Tennant wrote: ‘ok team I need your help. My dear friend’s daughter is missing. her name is Clementine, born 2007 and is missing from her home in Twickenham. If you have any informatio­n, or if you see her, please call police on 101 with reference to 22MIs01322­2.’

Mrs Tennant, wife of fellow actor David, added later that ‘contrary to rumours, Clementine has NoT been found. Please keep posting and sharing to anyone you know. Thank you for all you’ve done so far.’ And sex education star James Purefoy wrote on saturday: ‘URGeNT IN LoNDoN. has anyone seen Clementine, 14, from Twickenham, London? Missing since Thursday. Please call Police on 101 if you have any informatio­n at all. Retweet far and wide.’

Meanwhile, actor stephen Mangan also shared a poster with details of the case.

The Met Police yesterday suspected Clementine, also known as Clemmie, may be with friends in the Acton area of west London.

A spokesman for the Met said last night: ‘A number of appeals for informatio­n have been issued by Clementine’s desperatel­y worried family and by police on social media, but as yet her whereabout­s remain unknown.’
