THE TIME OF OUR LIVES

A cast of 2,500 ‘ordinary’ people (the oldest of whom is 99) will take to the streets in retro clothing, celebrating the evolution of fashion and music over the 70 years of the Queen’s reign. From jivers to teddy boys, mods, hippies, glam rockers, punks, new romantics, ravers and Britpoppers, no cultural stone will be left unturned.

In addition, a fleet of open-topped buses and 500 vintage cars, motorbikes and bicycles will appear including some ‘special guest vehicles’ such as Daleks and a fleet of cars from the James Bond movies dating back to the 1960s.

The mile-long extravaganza will feature 150 ‘national treasures’ who have been pivotal to British culture over the past 70 years including Sir Cliff Richard, Dame Shirley Bassey and Kate Moss.
