Lessons never learned

-

Yet again a child is abused and killed by their parents or stepparents, the very people who should care for them.

Council executives earn hefty salaries by moving job, but we rarely hear about anyone apologising, resigning or being sacked following these horrific cases.

When a relative or neighbour contacts the authorities about a child they are concerned about, it appears that often nothing is done. if a child does not turn up at school or appears to be unkempt, unwell and hungry, i can’t imagine teachers don’t contact the authorities.

social services are stretched to breaking point, but surely when there are suspicions of abuse, why can’t the police insist on entering the home to see the child rather than social workers being fobbed off at the door by a manipulative parent?

Like most people, i am sick and tired of hearing the words: ‘Lessons must be learned.’

it appears nothing changes and children and babies are still being neglected, abused and killed.

Drugs and alcohol contribute to aggression, impatience and a lack of self-control, but some people are just cruel and wicked.
