Going solo is best
I HAVE sympathy with Joanna Cannon, who questions whether a woman needs a best friend or bestie (Inspire).
Like her, I’m introverted and can be perfectly happy with my own company.
I have friends, but prefer to go shopping on my own after an unfortunate experience. A friend insisted on shopping with me, only to hold up some monstrous outfit for all to see and yell: ‘This will suit you!’
She also bellowed cheerfully from the far end of the clothes rail: ‘What size are you now — is it 14 or 16?’
I love meeting up with old school friends for lunch, but am always pleased when I can get home and put my feet up with a solitary cuppa.
