Lazy civil servants

-

I WORK for the civil service and am shocked at the waste of taxpayers’ cash. WFH has seen a reduction in productivity when targets are now described as ‘expectations’.

Staff were given a budget to set themselves up to work from home and now there is a steadfast refusal from many to go back to the office.

Some waited up to two months to get set up at home and were paid their full salary to do nothing.

Staff who are making significant savings on commuting and child care expenses are reluctant to return. On a call to HMRC, I could hear the agent’s child in the background.

Staff have been offered a hybrid working pattern, with only two days a week in half-empty offices, but you’d be surprised at the reluctance to return.
