The questions that Labour and Durham police must answer
QUESTIONS FOR LABOUR
▪ HAS anyone in Sir Keir’s office had contact with either Durham’s police and crime commissioner Joy Allen or her deputy about the case?
▪ DID Durham police speak to Sir Keir or any Labour officials about the April 30 event during the initial ‘investigation’?
▪ DID Sir Keir stay the night or return to London? Where did he stay, given that most hotels were closed at the time?
▪ DID Angela Rayner consume any of the food and drink, given there were no restaurants open, and where did she stay that night, given she had another event in Durham early the next morning?
▪ GIVEN Sir Keir’s crusading stance on lockdown-busting events, would he welcome a police investigation into the events of April 30 to clear up the matter once and for all?
AND FOR DURHAM FORCE
▪ How many officers were/are in the ‘investigation team’? And what are their ranks?
n BEYOND viewing the video clip of Sir Keir drinking the beer, what methods of investigation did the team pursue? n
DID the team contact or interview witnesses or send out questionnaires?
▪ DID officers identify the person who filmed the video clip, or take a statement from them?
▪ WERE any inquiries made as to whether further video or photos might exist (e.g. CCTV)?
▪ DID officers contact Sir Keir personally or his office? Did they interview Sir Keir or send him a questionnaire?
▪ DID the investigating team consult the Crown Prosecution Service before they decided to take no further action? Last night Durham Constabulary declined to answer specific questions and simply referred callers to its previous statement.
