IT’S third time lucky for Colin Prichard, of Basildon, Essex. First, we helped to reconnect him with Flora Hilley, a friend he made on holiday in Greece in 1981. ‘We’ve exchanged photos and plan to meet,’ said Colin. Then we heard from Jill Badman, who believed Colin was a teenage friend of her late husband, Alex. He was and we put Jill in touch. She was delighted, especially as Colin could tell her son Harry about his father’s younger days. ‘Alex and I were great mates and I’m very sad to hear he has died,’ said Colin. Then we heard from Mel Prichard, a former director for a building company who lives in Cyprus. ‘I think Colin may be a relative,’ she wrote. ‘My family also come from Essex and we share the same surname.’ And indeed, they are! ‘Mel is the son of my grandfather’s brother,’ says Colin. ‘So he’s my dad’s cousin. I’ll contact him right away.’
