New anti-Semitism storm over councillor who shared attacks on ‘fraud’ Anne Frank
LABOUR faced embarrassment last night over a council candidate who apparently shared an article claiming that Adolf Hitler was ‘completely justified’ in persecuting Jews.
Belgica Guana was suspended on the eve of polling over the article which denied the Holocaust. The piece also described Anne Frank as a ‘bisexual degenerate’ and said her diary was an ‘obvious fraud... laced with pornographic and sexually subversive passages’.
The councillor in Newham, east London, has now been dropped as a candidate and suspended from the party after the Jewish Chronicle reported on the episode. She will still, however, be listed as a Labour candidate on the ballot paper because it is too late to change them.
The revelation will embarrass Sir Keir Starmer who has attempted to root out anti-Semitism in his party.
Miss Guana, who had been standing for re-election today, shared the piece entitled ‘The Holocaust Hoax and the Jewish Promotion of Peversity’ in February 2016.
The disturbing article says: ‘The so-called “Holocaust” is propaganda in an ongoing war between the Jews and those with the courage to stand up to them – a war that began with the National Socialists coming to power in Germany in the 1930s and continues to this very day.’
It claims the Holocaust was a hoax and continues: ‘The Germans were completely justified in persecuting and expelling the Jews (which is all that was actually happening), just as we would be today.’
It also makes the extraordinary claim: ‘The Jews have used their Holocaust hoax as a sinister tool to successfully promote perversity in movies, literature and Academia.’
It ends with a picture of Adolf Hitler with the words ‘you should have listened’ superimposed on top.
In 2016, Miss Guana shared a post that said: ‘The Nazi Holocaust was a crime against humanity, and the Israeli Genocide against Palestinians can not be ignored or denied.’
She was elected as a councillor in Newham in 2018. The Labour Party said last night it no longer endorsed her. It is understood that she is ‘administratively’ suspended from the party, pending investigation.
A spokesman said: ‘The Labour Party takes all complaints seriously.’
Anne Frank was a teenage Jew who kept a diary while her family was in hiding from the Nazis in Amsterdam. They were betrayed and she died in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945.
