OPERATION TO STAMP OUT TROUBLE

-

BOOZE bans on flights and a heavy police presence await West Ham fans travelling in the hope of witnessing a famous Europa League win tonight. Airlines warned travellers alcohol would not be sold, blaming ‘staff shortages’ and saying only water would be available. Frankfurt police also promised officers on every street corner in a bid to ensure no trouble. That did not deter Eintracht ‘ultras’ from targeting West Ham fans in apparently unprovoked attacks yesterday, however. It comes after clashes in Seville when Frankfurt were playing Real Betis and West Ham were facing Sevilla. About 1,500 Hammers fans have travelled without tickets and have been advised not to go near the stadium.
