THE QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY PARADE

Trooping the Colour For more than 260 years this annual event has marked the official birthday of the British Sovereign. This year the colour will be trooped by the 1st Battalion, Irish Guards, with more than 1,200 soldiers from the Household Division putting on a display of military pageantry on

Horse Guards Parade in central London. Members of the public will be able to view the display along The Mall as the troops parade to and from Horse Guards Parade. There will also be large screens at St James’s Park.

Once the parade has ended and the royal procession has returned to Buckingham Palace, the Queen and senior members of her family will appear on the balcony, accompanied by a spectacular flypast.
