Role model dads with influence

-

Jacob Rees-mogg was born into the Establishment, one of five children of the late Times editor William rees-Mogg (above left), who was made a life peer in 1988. ‘I was devoted to my father and I still miss him,’ Jacob has said.

Tyson’s father, John, also provided him with a role model to emulate — he was a bare-knuckle boxer in the 1980s and competed at professional level.

Fury snr named his son after his hero Mike Tyson after seeing how the baby, born three months premature, would work his tiny fists as though he was boxing.

Tyson, who has traveller roots, says his father taught him the value of discipline. ‘My dad had me working really late on Fridays and saturday mornings and even on sunday mornings.’

but his home life was less stable. He said: ‘My mother and father were always shouting, screaming and hitting each other.’

John Fury was sent to prison for 11 years in 2011 for gouging a man’s eye out during a fight.
