GROUNDS FOR DERBY CONCERN

-

PROSPECTIVE new Derby owner Chris Kirchner has only provided the EFL with proof of funds to keep them going for two years, suggesting the club could still face future financial problems if his takeover is completed. The EFL have approved the sale in principle as there are no other credible buyers and Kirchner has submitted evidence of sufficient funding to complete the purchase but there remain major concerns as the deal does not include Pride Park, with investment company MSD holding a charge on the ground as they are owed £20million by former owner Mel Morris. If Derby Council do not agree to buy the stadium for £20m, the takeover is likely to collapse.
