Crawley sack Yems over racism allegations
CRAWLEY TOWN sacked John Yems yesterday after an investigation into claims that he racially abused his own players and ran a segregated training ground at which black stars used a separate changing room. Sportsmail revealed the allegations on Wednesday as it emerged several players at the League Two club had accused their manager of using insults such as ‘suicide bomber’, ‘terrorist’ and ‘curry muncher’. And it was claimed that, while it was not the club’s stated policy for players of different ethnicities to change separately, Yems told white players: ‘Don’t change in the black boys’ room’.
