Hypersonic missiles leave Odesa reeling
RUSSIA has bombed a shopping centre and several warehouses in Odesa with hypersonic missiles.
One person was killed and others wounded in what was probably an attempt to destroy Western military supplies using rockets capable of avoiding advanced air-defence systems.
But Odesa’s mayor Gennady Trukhanov said the facilities ‘had nothing in common with military infrastructure or objects’.
Odesa, which includes Ukraine’s largest port, has never been seized by Russian ground forces but is increasingly suffering aerial bombardment. The Black Sea city is subject to night-time curfews.
