Very dodgy caterpillar
THE public has been warned to look out for toxic caterpillars that can give humans a rash and can damage oak trees.
The pests, pictured, will grow into the oak processionary moth. They have hairs that cause rashes, eye and throat problems in people and pets, and ‘should not be touched under any circumstances’, says the Forestry Commission. It urged the public to report any sightings.
