Party politics

-

PaRTygaTE and Beergate sum up what is wrong with politics. Obvious wrongdoings, whether intentional or not and of dubious importance, with barely credible excuses and denials followed by pathetic and endless, point-scoring accusations from the other side, achieves nothing apart from showing how childish MPs can be.

There doesn’t seem to be a scintilla of difference between Boris’s birthday cake and Starmer’s curry and beer, yet MPs are following the party line and bending over backwards to say one is infinitely worse, or not as bad, as the other.

pHILIp CoDD, Manchester. WE nEED leadership. Boris Johnson should stand up and say that we all made mistakes during the chaos brought about by Covid. all lockdown fines should be refunded and any other penalties cancelled.
