Shell in Russian sale

-

SHELL has agreed to sell its petrol station business in Russia to Lukoil.

The energy company struck a deal to offload Shell neft to the country’s second-largest oil producer.

The deal includes 411 retail stations, mainly located in the central and north-western regions of Russia, and the Torzhok lubricants blending plant. neither Shell nor Lukoil would not comment yesterday on the value of the deal, which still requires the approval of Russia’s antimonopoly authorities.

Shell – which is moving ahead with its exit from Russia after the invasion of Ukraine – has written down £3.2bn after it pulled out of its Russian operations.

Shell shares fell 3.3pc.
