Gymnast ‘lover’ sanctioned
VLADIMIR Putin’s gymnast mistress is the latest member of the ‘shady network propping up his lavish lifestyle’ to be sanctioned.
His rumoured-to-be pregnant girlfriend Alina Kabaeva, 39, faces UK travel bans and asset freezes. Yesterday, the Government said it was targeting Putin’s ‘wallet’ of family and friends who are rewarded with state positions and wealth in return for their ‘undying loyalty’.
The 2004 Athens gold medallist, who is reportedly pregnant with the 69-year-old despot’s third child, previously sat as a deputy in Russia’s parliament.
Miss Kabaeva’s grandmother Anna Zatseplina is also on the list as well as Putin’s ex-wife Lyudmila Ocheretnaya.
