JENNIFER Saunders’ Ab Fab alter ego Eddie had no issues about rubbing shoulders with A-listers. But in real life things turned sour for the comic, 63, when she attended a glitzy Hollywood bash thrown in her honour and invited the likes of Carrie Fisher and Roseanne Barr to sit at her table.

‘It was a terrifying array of people, and suddenly you realise who you are,’ she confessed. ‘I sat there thinking, why didn’t I just ask people I knew? It was excruciating — I just wanted it to end.’
