Court in the act! Demi smuggles pup into tennis

- By Imogen Horton

WHEN it comes to puppy love, Demi Moore has had her fair share of disappointments. But the US actress clearly has a favourite new companion – the puppy she smuggled into the French Open this weekend.

The 59-year-old snuck what appeared to be a chihuahua into the match on Sunday as she watched Rafael Nadal secure his 22nd Grand Slam win.

The tiny chestnut and white dog seemed to have been smuggled into the Paris venue in her handbag – despite the fact dogs are banned from the stadium.

At one point during the match, which saw the Spanish tennis player beat Norwegian Casper Ruud, Miss Moore even seemed to bottle feed the pup some water. The Hollywood star, who has previously been married to actors Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher, was joined by her chef boyfriend Daniel Humm.

According to the tournament’s website, all dogs are banned from the Roland Garros venue with the exception of guide dogs and assistant dogs.

A spokesman last night declined to comment on Miss Moore’s apparent rule breach.

But a source close to the organisers said: ‘Very small handbag dogs are neither here nor there because very few people are aware of them, although technically they are banned along with other pets.’
