Once in a lifetime

-

WHAT a wonderful, once-in-alifetime celebration. It was fantastic to see our fabulous Queen in such great spirits and so obviously enjoying herself. She has served our country with devotion and humour.

The BBC coverage and reporting was terrific. Kirsty Young’s delivery and warmth showed how badly missed she has been.

The only downside was the contribution by royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell. Why does he always have to be negative? For once could he not have just been happy? It’s way past time for him to go — maybe Kirsty could take over.

CATE SCOTT, Hornsea, E. Yorks. AFTer all the pomp, ceremony and outpouring of support for the Queen, the best thing that can be said is: ‘She is ours.’

H. WoodS, Chilton, Co. durham.
