SINCKLER INJURY ADDS TO EDDIE’S TOUR WOES

- By ALEX BYWATER

SiNCklEr has added to Eddie jones’s growing England injury list for next month’s tour of Australia. The Bristol prop has a back problem and although he does not require surgery, the decision has been made for the 29-year-old to miss the Wallabies series. Sinckler was left out of head coach jones’s squad for a threeday training camp in london this week and follows centre pairing Manu Tuilagi and Henry Slade in suffering summer injury heartbreak. Wasps lock joe launchbury was also absent from the 35-man party named by jones yesterday, but Sportsmail understands he could still travel Down Under. launchbury, 31, spent a year out with a serious knee injury. His absence forms part of a plan to look after the forward’s workload following his recovery. jones’ training squad is without players from leicester, Saracens,

Harlequins and Northampton ahead of this weekend’s Gallagher Premiership play-offs. Wing jonny May, who missed the Six Nations with a knee injury, is back alongside luke Cowan-Dickie and Anthony Watson, who are recovering from knee and calf injuries. There are first England call-ups for Biyi Alo, Charlie Atkinson, Freddie Clarke, Sam jeffries and Patrick Schickerling. jones said: ‘it’s a great opportunity to learn about them and see what potential they have to play a part in Australia.’ Exeter have appointed omar Mouneimne as their new defence coach after he left Bristol. Glasgow have sacked head coach Danny Wilson after a record 76-14 loss to leinster in the United rugby Championship.
