JAY BLADES and the team bring four more treasured family heirlooms — and the memories they hold — back to life. John Barnes and his daughter, Hazel, have a very precious cornet that belonged to Kath, John’s wife and Hazel’s mum, before her death last year. Kath and John met when they played in the same Cleethorpes band as children, and Hazel, having inherited her mother’s passion for music, hopes to play a tune or two on the cornet herself — but first, she’ll need instrument expert Pete Woods to work his magic. Paul and Sheree Walker (pictured), meanwhile, have a beloved wooden ride-on rocking motorbike that was bought by Sheree’s late dad, Bob, who had a passion for motorbikes and even once raced in the Isle of Man TT. But after years kept under a tarpaulin in the garden, the toy needs the attention of wood specialist Will Kirk if it’s to get on the move again. Plus, soft toy restorers Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell are called on to give a new lease of life to a small but very important young monkey which belonged to Keith Jones’s partner Peter, who sadly died after catching Covid-19. Finally, book-binding expert Chris Shaw and embroidery specialist Sara Dennis are entrusted with an important historical record — an autograph book that belonged to Helen Brooke’s great aunt, Cynthia Maguire, who was a suffragette.
