BACK ON DUTY?

Does reunion of stars (and creator) mean a new series is on the way?

- By Eleanor Sharples TV and Radio Correspondent

MOTHER of God! What did these four discuss at dinner?

A picture tweeted by Line Of Duty creator Jed Mercurio of a ‘catch-up’ with the stars of the BBC series fuelled speculation that they may have been talking about a new season.

The TV writer, 56, said he enjoyed a ‘great night’ with Adrian Dunbar, 63, Martin Compston, 38, and Vicky McClure, 39 – who play Superintendent Ted Hastings, DI Steve Arnott and DI Kate Fleming – at a bistro in north London on Tuesday.

The photo of the four enjoying a drink led some fans to speculate whether the menus on the table were in fact scripts for a new series.

One wrote on Twitter: ‘Is this a hint that there is more to come? Please say so!’

But after the sixth season ended last year Mercurio said there was ‘no plan in place’ for a seventh.
