Getafe join the race to sign Bale

- PETE JENSON

GARETH BALE’s desire not to uproot his family could see him sign for Madrid-based club Getafe.

Sportsmail reported before Wales beat Ukraine in their World Cup play-off on Sunday that the 32-year-old had various offers to continue playing, including a return to Wales with Cardiff.

But, with the forward keen to stay in Spain until the November World Cup, Getafe president Angel Torres said last night: ‘I spoke with his agent this morning. He has been offered to us. We will consider it. I am going to have to speak to the technical staff.’

Bale will leave Real Madrid at the end of the month after nine years with the club. Getafe are Madrid’s third biggest team although last season they were beaten in the table by another side from the Spanish capital, Rayo Vallecano, who have also been linked with Bale.
