ANDY (Tom Palmer) quit the London rat race to live with his Uncle Jeff (Philip Jackson) in the fictional Yorkshire seaside town of Flamford — which turned out to be something of a fryingpan-to-fire manoeuvre. It transpired that Uncle Jeff is rather dodgy and the residents of Flamford a bit iffy — including local fish supremo Frank (Mark Benton) and angry vicar Beverley (Shobna Gulati, who also features in My Name Is Leon on BBC2 tonight). The opening show in the fourth series of this little gem of a sitcom finds the easily alarmed Joyce Rickles (Alison Steadman) caught up in one of Uncle Jeff’s wheezes.

SIMON LE BON (pictured) of Duran Duran joins Gary Davies on SOUNDS OF THE 80S (8PM, RADIO 2) to play favourite tracks from the decade and to look back 40 years to the release of the band’s second album, Rio. Simon tells Gary why Duran Duran never had to worry about Rio being ‘a difficult second album’.
