Sticky situation as pair fall into vat of chocolate
IN A tale worthy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, two people had to be rescued after falling into a giant tank of chocolate at a Mars factory in America.
The factory workers, who fell waistdeep into the vat on Thursday, escaped unscathed after the Elizabethtown Fire Department and more than 2 emergency services workers rescued them.
Firefighters worked for an hour before the pair could be taken to hospital, cutting a hole in the tank to free them. A spokesman insisted the pair were ‘not floating around in the chocolate’.
‘We’re extremely grateful for the quick work of first responders,’ a statement from Mars read. The plant, 12 miles from Hershey, Pennsylvania, makes products including M&Ms and Galaxy.
