THE Germans have made their first attempt to revive the Nazi Party. In Cologne, a Nazi official and 15 Nazis working for him have been arrested after trying to set up an underground ‘government’.

KYM MARSH, 46. The Merseyside actress and singer shot to fame in 2001 as one of the winners of ITV reality series Popstars and became a member of the band Hear’Say. She later starred in Coronation Street for 13 years and married and divorced two soap stars: EastEnders’ Jack ryder and Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas.
ALAN HANSEN, 67. The ex-footballer from Clackmannanshire won three European Cups at Liverpool and played 26 times for Scotland. He was a pundit on Match of The Day for 22 years, reportedly earning up to £1.5 million a year. one critic said Hansen, who called his autobiography Tall, Dark And Hansen, had ‘an overweening selfconfidence bordering on smugness’. DAME SARAH CONNOLLY, 59. The mezzosoprano, ‘Queen of the UK’s opera scene’, has taken leading roles at New york’s Metropolitan opera, Milan’s La Scala and London’s royal opera House. In 2009 she sang rule, britannia! at the Last Night of The Proms, dressed as Admiral Nelson.

WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS (1865-1939). The poet and playwright was the first Irishman to win the Nobel Prize, in 1923. His first love was Irish beauty Maud Gonne, whom he met in 1889. From then on, he wrote, ‘the troubling of my life began’, as she did not return his feelings. He was also rejected by her daughter, 27 years later. The same year, 1917, he wed Georgie Hyde-Lees, a spiritual medium 27 years his junior. MARV TARPLIN (1941-2011). The U.S. guitarist found fame with The Miracles, whose hits included Tears of A Clown and The Tracks of My Tears, which Tarplin co-wrote. Last year rolling Stone magazine declared it the best ever Motown song.
