PICK OF TODAY’S RADIO
UKRAINE’S NUCLEAR GAMBLE, 11AM, RADIO 4
CLIVE MYRIE, who’s been reporting with clarity and bravery from the war in Ukraine, takes us back to 1994 when the newly independent country decided to denuclearise. A lethal legacy of thousands of Russian nuclear arms had remained in Ukraine after the collapse of the USSR — making the country, at that point, the world’s third-largest nuclear power. Now, as the world teeters dangerously close to nuclear war, Clive hears about the 1994 Budapest negotiations and how the decisions made then affect us all today.
BENJAMIN YATES, who has sung and danced his way across the stage in Wicked, Cats, West Side Story and School Of Rock, is now in Jersey Boys. Benjamin (pictured) joins SAM HUGHES (1PM, SCALA RADIO) in her studio today, along with the lead cast from the hit musical. They’ll talk about the show and give us a thrill as they launch into some
of the Four Seasons’ many great songs, with all those sensational harmonies.
